For more than two decades, I worked inside organizations responsible for innovations that impacted millions of people around the world.
From global brands to high-growth biotech companies, I was trusted to lead, deliver results, and do my part to help each company grow.
On the outside, it looked like each company I worked for was on this amazing trajectory. But on the inside, I started to notice something sometimes felt… off.
Talented people who had an incredible amount to offer often struggled to get their ideas heard because they didn’t have the title, credentials, or perceived authority… even when their insights held real promise.
I felt the weight of this myself.
As the “numbers guy”, I was the executive who had to estimate risk, weigh the upsides (and downsides) of any new initiative, and prepare a contingency plan to keep us ahead of the unexpected.
But more and more often, the answers I could see lived outside my job description.
Until one day, I sat in a boardroom, and I heard a leader write off one of our most talented people in a single sentence. In that moment, I knew something had to change.
